Eco-friendly hotel in the Moroccan countryside — Terres d’Amanar.
Jean: “If tourism was a country, it would be the 5th largest polluter of CO2.”

Jean started “Terres d’Amanar” – an eco-hotel outside Marrakesh.
Jean: “What are we to do? You need to be natural up to your ultimate [breath?].”

Jean offers his guests an amazing experience without sacrificing the integrity of the culture and people who surround it.

Jean: “Normally we say ‘La vie c’est le risque’, life is risk. You need to invest yourself in projects even if it is risky.

All the construction of the site is achieved with genuine and authentic material from the place that’s built. I want to demonstrate that such a project can be developed in a very balanced manner between people, nature, economic environment, social environment, and of course business necessities.”

Worker: “I was the first woman to work in Terres d’Amanar. My husband made tea for the guests, and now my children work there. I was unemployed before Terres d’Amanar. There were no jobs here. All the employees at Terres d’Amanar come from this region.”

Terres d’Amanar employs over 150 locals from surrounding villages.
Jean: “What I’m proud of that they, when they speak of the project, they speak as though it is their project, Terres d’Amanar. We are Terres d’Amanar.”
