Kanika Sood is a graduate in Fashion Technology from Pearl Institute of Fashion in India and London School of Fashion in UK. Yet, she chose social entrepreneurship as her playground, through NIEV foundation . Kanika is a native of the Himalayas, where flash floods in June 2013 (in Uttrakhand) affected millions. She has been advocating sustainable travel for a long time and in this TEDx Talk she shares her own story of how she, a native, became an outsider and how even as we burden our highlands, we can help if we travel with a purpose, a purpose of making the world a better place.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
